When Santa Secretly Took a Gift From Me

It doesn’t matter how old we get, when it comes to Christmas we all wait for Santa to fulfill our wishes and reward us by showering gifts for being good around the year. But have you ever thought, what if Santa wants a gift too?

During one of Christmas, something similar happened to me. Like every time on the day of Christmas, we planned to go for our yearly ritual of shopping.

Being festive season the shopping mall we went to was packed with people, more than what we have expected. Since we have spent so much of our time reaching that place none of us was willing to go back. We spent a great time looking for gifts and other stuff. Since all of us wanted to look for different things so we decided to split and meet a the coffee shop at a specific time.

After wrapping up, when we arrived at the car park I realized that my phone wasn’t there in my coat pocket, the strange thing was that I had attended a call not less than 5 minutes ago. Panic struck everyone and we all ran to the last spot where I used the phone. Someone suggested looking into the store’s CCTV footage.

BOOM…what I witnessed in the footage shocked me to the core, a guy standing right behind me at the cash counter took my phone out stealthy as soon as I put it back into my pocket. That phone holds a real high emotional value for me as it was my first purchase from my first salary, I was still paying the EMIs for it.

We looked for that guy almost everywhere, but we knew it was like finding a needle in the haystack. Finally, we decided to register a complaint to the Police and go back home.

I was so heartbroken and angry that I could kill anyone through my stare. To lighten up the mood, my sister mentioned so this time instead of Santa giving you a gift, you gifted Santa for being nice to you for so long. Her statement made all of us burst into laughter and with that, I accepted the fact that this Christmas it was me who gave Santa something.

But it still pinched a lot when every month the installment amount goes out of my bank account for something which I don’t possess and I cannot do anything about it, as technically the phone is still mine.
